The emphasis of this review is to discuss three peculiar phenomena bubbles rising in viscoelastic fluids, namely, the formation a cusp, negative wake, and velocity jump discontinuity, highlight possible future directions subject. mechanism influencing factors these have been discussed detail review. evolution bubble shape mainly related viscoelasticity fluid. However, mechanisms two-dimensional tip-streaming, “blade-edge” tip, “fish-bone” phenomenon tail breaking into two different threads, some special are not understood clearly. origin wake behind fluid can be attributed synergistic effect liquid-phase viscoelasticity, large enough; thus, leading very long relaxation time taken by stresses. For most critical factor, cusp surface modifications play only ancillary roles. It has also observed that does cause discontinuity.
